Please check out the February Liahona this week!  Its an LDS magazine, but it talks about some super important topics, and I love the one from this month, right down to the cover art.  The Liahona frequently talks to kids (in a special kid section) about difficult subjects such as abuse, or pornography.  The church is here to build better futures.  We need to prepare because this life is scary.

I suggest just downloading the PDF and looking through it, anything that catches your eye.

Someone asked how I found my testimony.  I found my testimony here in the mission, but I want you to be able to find yours.  If you arent able to pin your testimony down to a specific moment among a lot of wonderful things, thats ok.  But I challenge you, with all my blessing, that if you have anything in your life, that you dont like or want to change, sacrifice it for Christ and battle it with all your force.  Church leaders are here to help you, not to scold you. This is something I have learned, and my view of the church is so much more from a humanitarian love point of view. I promise that we just want to help people have better lives.  Now is your moment.  And I promise that the testimony you will gain, will be worth the pain and the suffering that it will require to change.

Here is a talk from the Feb Liahona about this topic, but it is filled with this stuff:

Weird thing about Argentina:
Even though this is cow country, all dairy products are ridiculously expensive and we oftentimes do not have enough money to buy milk or cheese.  (I love cheese so this is tough haha)

Gracias to the Harrison Family for hooking me up with a Wolf´em stick all the way down here!

WAKE UP THERES A BEAUTIFUL WEEK AHEAD

Good morning eh!

So Im in Rivadavia, and our new pench is a castle! It used to be a girls pench, and although it no longer smells like cooties, it still has a washing machine and a little air conditioning machine! We living large out here! The area has a TON of grape fields, and believe me... theyre delicious, and so are the sunsets and lightning storms!

Yesterday during chruch we gave a little lesson on Agency and the Freedom to Choose to a little investigator family of ours! Theyre super great and have two little boys who are "loco, che" ha! My new comp is Bolivian and he used to be a DJ there! Hes super great, and we´re a lot alike.  We focus on the members, because after we leave, who is going to love our investigators for us? the members!!

Anyway, agency is HUGE because its the whole reason we are here on Earth.  We have a Heavenly Father, who loves us very much, but he doesnt want his love to be one sided. Can you imagine loving someone SO much, but not getting anything in return? Maybe there´s nothing wrong with that, but its not a complete love--its one sided. As with any relationship between two people, the love is a lot stronger, a more complete love, if love is two sided!  So just the same as love in between two people should be equal, God sent us here so that we could choose to love him back!

GO KARTIN' TO SAN MARTÍN??

Moving to San Martin!!

So oftentimes in the mission, we get phone calls and have to leave an area within the next 48 hours.  And that happened to me! So now I have to say goodbye to all my friends and loved ones here and leave for my next area..! It's been a blast being here, and I never wanted to leave.. but alas...

There's a phrase here... "Así es la misión" meaning... Such is the mission.

So I have to say goodbye, but the mission is FULL of goodbyes.  Hint...They're Always hard.

My only advice is to listen to "What a Wonderful World/Somewhere over the Rainbow" by IZ.
Sometimes we just gotta save a space for those we love inside our hearts and know that they´ll always be there♥

Shout out to Elder Hannes du Randt, I agree 100% with what he wrote is his email this week from his Mission in Chicago:

I love Jesus! His love for us is unmeasurable! It may not seem like he is pouring out his love out to some of us but I assure you that he is. His love is like rain, and sometimes we hold up an umbrella, the rain is coming down, we are just blocking it. Throw away your umbrella and dance in the rain of Christ's love! Don't you remember your laughter and happiness you had when you played in the rain as a kid? Those are the kinds of smiles you will have when you let down your umbrella and live in the love of Christ that constantly surrounds us!

I LOVE YOU ALL AND SMILE SUPER BIG THIS WEEK!!

LOVE, ELDER AMANN
We went go karting last p day and saw some sweet things!

ACT? more like WHACK

People have asked me what I got on the ACT basically since I took it.  The ACT is a standardized test that colleges have high school students take.  The material on the test is not too bad, but confusing language and time limits make it really hard.  Anyway, The reason I bring this up, is because a lot of people I know still talk about this test, even though it only applied for the year we applied to colleges.

and this frustrates me.

The ACT is a test that matters so little, and such pressure is placed on it.  But more than anything, it reduces us to numbers.  It reduces students who have such great things going for them in different areas down to a number on a scale.  Most standardized tests are like this.  And this makes me very sad.

So please, do not reduce me to a number by asking my ACT score, but more than that, realize that we are all beautiful, and different and no number on a test can take that away.

Anyway, This week I have to give a huge shout out to my second family,

THE USC STUDENT WARD.

They sent me a letter signed by so many of the people who inspire me and treated me like family my first year at college.  The USC Ward family is truly special, and we´re made up of imperfect people who are trying their hardest.  I love you guys so much, thanks for keeping me going and inspiring me all the way out here in Argentina! I learned so much from you guys and I hope you´re all FIGHTING ON.

I want to end with a quote from my sister which I liked this week.

loving yourself is an act of christ-like love, and a hard one at that. That forgiving yourself is part of recognizing the spark of divinity within yourself as you do in others.  Its hard to accept that you truly are beautiful, powerful, creative, kind, loved.

Love yourself, and realize you are AMAZING.

LOVE ELDER AMANN

WEAPONS OF WAR

BURY THEM!

Happy 2017 Everyone! This already feels like the best year in history! Lets make it that!!

Alma 24:17-18

This is the story of the Anti-Nephi-Lehies, who decide to bury their weapons of war deep into the earth!  I really love this story, especially for the New Year, because, like them, we can bury the things that are dangerous in our lives and trust that we will never have to undig them!  Bury the dangerous things in your life, and trust in yourself and in the Lord this year!

----------------------------------------

2 Things!

1. We wear church clothes almost always. Even on P Days! Give your nearest Mission Server a huge hug for wearing church clothes for 2 years!
2. People eat cough drops instead of normal candy here.  And dogs are everywhere... Stray dogs just roam the streets.

Which brings me to photos! I took pictures of almost every dog I saw in one day, and this one was one of my favorites!

Here they celebrate the New Year with Fireworks (that dont have rules wahOO)

and HAPPY NEW YEAR
