This
week we found Tupac (he´s a rapper who´s supposed to be dead but
actually he´s just looking for Peace down here in Argentina)
AND Pablo Picasso´s Guernica!
It might look like some
crazy Argentine art, but its actually a super famous painting with some
great history!  And Pablo Picasso is one of the all time greats, so I
was super excited to see any form of his work (Special shout out to my
Art History Teacher, Mother Wood, and my AP European History teacher Ms.
 Farr)
One lesson we can learn from Picasso is
to look at things as they are.  And if nothing else, if you´re looking
at Picasso´s Guernica and it doesnt make sense at all, that's because war doesn't make sense.
One
thing we can learn from Tupac is to love your neighbor! Especially if
they´re a different race.  I´m learning a lot about what its like to be a
minority, and what racism means here, and I cannot stress how important
it is to just love those around you, and be patient with them.
Especially if they obviously don't speak your language.  Be patient and
speak slow.  Everyone is dealing with really scary demons, even if they
look "fearless."
Last week, I wrote about the
Feb Magazine for this year, and if you havent given it a look yet,
theres still time! I absolutely love this article
"How to Change" and it was written for the youth, because we have to know that no matter what, we can change.   We have that promise from our Savior. And although its written to the youth, everyone needs to hear this message! You are a child of GOD.
If you need help, if you feel lost, if you feel satan has dug your hole
too deep, I need you to pick your chin up, look at yourself in the
mirror, and know that You can never go so far that you can't come back home again.  But you have to make the trip home! And
He´s there for you.  We, the human family, are there for you.  Nothing is impossible if you believe!
LOVE YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART,
Elder Amann
